Trips study in Emilia

This initiative was thought by Istoreco, which is the Institute for the history of the Resistenza and Contemporary Society, placed in Reggio Emilia province; Istoreco plans the cultural side of the trip and relies on a group of professionals for the implementation; the logistical aspects are planned by a travel agency which is in partnership with cooperative CulturelABS. 

A study trip allows for a formative and pleasant occasion to face the topic of war in Contemporary History, as well as the deportation and the various forms of the Resistenza. Furthermore, it allows to engage personally with the horrors caused by the dictatorships and to understand how European democracies came into being.


Details of the trip

Length: 5 days / 4 nights; half-board hotel 


Tutors: an Istoreco professional will be there throughout the trip and will deal with the historical contextualisation and with the linguistic mediation 

Guided Visits: the guided visits are done by professionals particularly keen on the proposed topics

Sunday the 10th of July 2016 – Museo Cervi
Morning: Depature from Milan at 09.00 AM
Arrival at Gattatico (RE) at 11.00 M
Guided visit to Museo Cervi
Lunch at the museum
Afternoon: Presentation of “Memorie in cammino”
Move to Reggio Emilia, about 30 minutes travel

Monday the 11th of July 2016 – Il campo di Fossoli
Morning: Move to Carpi (MO), about 40 minutes travel
Guided visit to the Museum of the deported
Free lunch
Afternoon: move to Fossoli (MO), about 10 minutes travel
Guided visit to the camp
Presentation of the Master in Public History
Way back to Reggio Emilia, about 50 minutes travel

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION FEE 

The cost of the trip is of € 530,00 per person with a double room.
Additional single room costs € 92,00.
A minimum of 25 participants is required to plan the trip.

The plan of the trip might change due to technical reasons not dependent on the organisation of the trip.

The participation fee entails:

  • A Istoreco professional for the whole length of the trip
  • Pullman GT 30 seats for the whole length of the trip
  • 4 overnights in hotel, double room
  • 4 meals in hotel or in restaurant
  • 9 guided visits
  • access to the museums and historical sites 
  • material for cultural information
  • medical insurance, RCT
  •  historical consultancy, logistic and planning

The fee does not entail:

  • alcoholic drinks 
  • tips and personal extras
  •  everything which is not clearly stated in the trip plan

Payment and Withdrawal:

CultureLabs can cancel the agreement if the number of the participants is not reached. In such case, the Agency is forced to alert the participant of the cancelation of the trip within 15 days previous to the departure day as written in the trip plan. The technical organisation is transferred to the agency Culture Labs.
