This two days route takes us to the discovery of the town of Vicenza, in the region of Veneto, and the Palladian villas, inserted in the list of UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage sites between 1994 and 1996. We will visit the beautiful venetian town, admiring the Olympic Theatre, the Basilica Palladiana and Palazzo Chiericati, in addition to other superb buildings and churches of the town, and some villas in the surrounding area, including Villa Capra called “la Rotonda”, the most famous of the residences designed by the architect Palladio.

The bus will bring you in Vicenza, a very charming town, where you will admire some works of the architect Andrea Palladio, like the superb Olympic Theatre, the Basilica Palladiana in the centre, with the near statue of the architect, and the City Museum in Palazzo Chiericati. Stroll in the streets and lunch, enjoying the Vicenza\u2019s elegant atmosphere.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the afternoon the bus will bring you to visit the magnificent Villa Capra, called \u201cLa Rotonda\u201d, because of its unique central plan. Here you will understand the principles of Palladian architecture, admiring the classical beauty of this type of XVI century\u2019s villas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The bus will bring you in Maser, in Treviso province, where you will visit the astonishing Villa Barbaro, frescoed in \u201ctrompe l\u2019oeil\u201d by the painter Paolo Veronese, its huge park and fascinating Nymphaeum behind the villa, and the near church Tempietto Barbaro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lunch in the beautiful little town of Asolo, before reaching Fanzolo di Vedelago, always in Treviso province, to discover another marvelous Palladian villa: Villa Emo. Here you will know about the unique \u201cbarchesse\u201d, typical lateral colonnades, and the simple mathematical relationships expressed in its proportions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
