On November 30^th, 2014 among the discussion of the stability law (annual and long standing budget) the Italian Chamber of Deputies approved the Order of the Day A.C. 2679-bis-A (signed by deputies Deputati D’Ottavio, Manzi, Piccoli Nardelli, Rampi, Malpezzi) that requests the Italian Government to sustain – in a financial as well as operational way – the organisation of the 24^th ICOM General Conference “Museums and Cultural Landscapes”, that will be held in Milan, on July 3-9, 2016.

This official stance represents a first success for the Organising Committee and ICOM effort in the organisation of ICOM 2016. 

On December 10^th, Hans-Martin Hinz (ICOM President), Alberto Garlandini (President of the ICOM 2016 Organising Committee), Daniele Jalla (President of ICOM Italy) and Adele Maresca Compagna (Vice President of Icom Italy) will meet Minister Dario Franceschini (MiBACT – Ministry of Culture Heritage and Activities and Tourism) and Benedetto Della Vedova (Undersecretary of State at the MAE – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) in order to define the basis of the cooperation with ICOM Italy and to discuss their institutional sustain to the ICOM General Conference.
