Como: Sacro Monte Ossuccio and Tour Between Art and History

This itinerary in Como takes off to the Sacro Monte Ossuccio, heading up a path with a view of some of the 15 chapels dedicated to the mysteries of Rosario. Situated on the western shores of Lake Como and named a UNESCO World Heritage Site as of 2003, it also includes the Santuario della Beata Vergine del Soccorso. Continue on, descending to Ossuccio, where you can admire the historic bell tower and an absolutely stunning view of Comasina Island.

Santuario della Madonna del Soccorso

In the afternoon, visit Como and take the “rationalist” tour, arriving at the Tempio Voltiano along the lakeside for a visit of the groundfloor. Tour the gorgeous city, stopping in the Cathedral, which is famous for its architecture, art, and organ. Finish things off at the Palazzo Terragni, the Basilica of Sant’Abbondio, and the Giuseppe Garibaldi Historic Museum, dedicated to one of the “fathers of the fatherland”.
