Touring Club Italiano – Aperti per voi

The project “Aperti per Voi” (Open for You) is an initiative that protects and promotes Italy’s cultural heritage, thanks to the support of over 2000 volunteers who commit their time and passion continuously to keep art venues open that would otherwise be closed to the public. Since 2005, they have welcomed over 8 million visitors to museums, churches, historic palazzi and archeological areas in many different Italian cities.

In Milan “Aperti per Voi” involves more than 800 volunteers that are engaged every day in order to expose 16 art venues: church of San Maurizio, “Alda Levi” archeological museum, church of Sant’Antonio, Litta palace, Francesco Messina museum, Boschi Di Stefano house museum, crypt of San Giovanni, archeological area of San Vittore, church of San Vittore, Grassi-Vismara art collections at GAM, archeological area of San Nazaro, church of San Satiro, crypt of Holy Virgin, house of Alessandro Manzoni, church of San Fedele, house of Giuseppe Verdi.


Touring Club Italiano invites the participants of the ICOM General Conference to explore Milan together with our volunteers.

In fact the excursion day is divided in two different moments:

– a first part hosted at the headquarters of Touring Club Italiano in which it will be presented the mission of our association and its leading role for the Italian cultural context

– a second part organized as a tour around the city to discover some of the most charming cultural places of the project “Aperti per Voi”.

PROGRAMME

9.30 Meeting at Touring Club Italiano headquarters in Corso Italia 10, Milan 

9.40 Presentation in plenary session of Touring Club Italiano, its mission and activities and the project of cultural volunteering “Aperti per Voi”

10.30 Division of the participants in 3 different groups (25-30 people each group) and start of the itinerary around the city to visit some of the cultural venues “Aperti per Voi” with the volunteers.

13.30 End of the visits and free time
