How to book a hotel room
Several hotel rooms in Milan that fall in different price categories have been reserved for the 24th General Conference of the International Council of Museums.
As a service for individual participants, K.I.T. Group will arrange your hotel accommodation at no extra charge.
The hotel ratings range from 3 to 5 stars.

- All rates are indicative and subject to change.
- All rates (per room, per night) include breakfast, VAT, city tax and service. Rates are shown for standard rooms.
- Each category has a minimum and a maximum rate based on single/double occupancy.
- All hotels offer bath/shower/WC, telephone and breakfast facilities. Hotels of 4 and 5 stars usually have a restaurant and a bar.
Reservation
We advise you to make your reservation as early as possible so that you have the best choice of the available hotels at the special conference rate.
Hotel accommodation is subject to availability and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Beginning in May 2015, reservations can be made by using the online hotel booking form. A credit card and full card holder details will be required. Telephone reservations will not be accepted.
Should the selected hotel(s) be sold out, K.I.T. Group reserves the right to book a hotel in an alternative category and price range.
Payment and Confirmation
On receipt of the hotel booking request, K.I.T. Group will charge a deposit of € 35,00 and send a confirmation. The remaining accommodation payment will be charged on March 15, 2016, and K.I.T. Group will send an accommodation invoice. Alternatively, a bank transfer for the entire accommodation amount can be made by this date. Please indicate that the bank transfer should be made “free of charge to the receiver account”.
From March 15, 2016 onwards, only payment by credit card will be accepted.
In this case, the credit card will be debited for the entire accommodation amount on receipt of the booking request.
No invoice will be sent until K.I.T. Group has received the full payment.
If K.I.T. Group does not receive the payment on time or is not able to debit the provided credit card by March 15, 2016, the hotel reservation will be cancelled depending on the cancellation conditions.
Please state the participant name, participant number, and “ICOM 2016 Hotel” when making the accommodation payments.
Should there be any subsequent changes regarding the hotel room reservation (E.G. cancellation or no-show), the hotel or K.I.T. Group reserve the right to debit/credit the required/refunded amounts from/to your credit card account.

Please note that hotels will not accept any changes or cancellations directly.
K.I.T. Group will retain the deposit of € 35,00 in the case of cancellations received before March 15, 2016. For cancellations received between March 15, 2016 and April 15, 2016, the cost of one full night of accommodation will be charged by K.I.T. Group. For cancellations received after April 15, 2016, no refunds will be possible. In this case, the full value of the reservation indicated on the hotel reservation form will be charged, regardless of circumstances. In the case of a reduction in the length of stay after April 15, 2016 and in the case of a no-show, no refunds will be made. In both cases, the entire number of booked nights will be charged.
Rooms left empty due to no-shows will be released at 09:00 hrs the following day and the accommodation costs will not be refunded.
Group Reservations
Group reservations (10 rooms minimum) will be handled by separate contracts and separate regulations.

Low Budget Accommodation
A special agreement with the “Collegio di Milano”
ICOM Italy has stipulated with the Collegio di Milano a special agreement that will give ICOM Milano 2016 participants the opportunity to book their own room at highly convenient rates (about € 45,00 for a single room and € 60,00 for a double room). About 200 rooms are available in Milan.

Beds & Breakfasts and Hostels
For reservations in B&B’s and hostels, please note that it is not possible to make pre-bookings through K.I.T. Group. However, ICOM 2016 has compiled a list of these accommodations which can be downloaded below.
Please note that only rooms booked through the official conference system have been checked for proper amenities and quality. Thus, neither K.I.T. Group nor the Organising Committee can be held responsible for any shortcomings of the B&B’s and hostels listed.
